Jie Hayes is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Songbird Capital, bringing over 25 years of experience managing institutional portfolios across public and private markets. She leads the firm’s investment strategy, with a focus on digital transformation and energy transition—secular themes that anchor Songbird’s forward-looking approach.
Before founding Songbird in 2012, Jie was Vice President at Citi Hedge Fund Management Group, overseeing a $12 billion global hedge fund platform. Her expertise spans portfolio and risk management, manager selection, and operational due diligence.
Songbird reflects her philosophy of rigorous research, risk-aware portfolio construction, and high-conviction thematic investment. Under her leadership, Songbird has built a strong track record of delivering results through structural shifts and market cycles.
