Lukas Ryll is an applied machine learning researcher and technology entrepreneur with a strong interdisciplinary background spanning finance, data science, and probabilistic modeling. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge where he specializes in approximate inference methodologies applied to deep learning, with a particular focus on time series forecasting.
Lukas serves as an advisor to Songbird Capital, supporting its initiatives in digital transformation and AI integration research. He brings deep technical expertise in data infrastructure, cloud-native platforms, and scalable AI deployment.
As co-lead of pivotal AI industry research initiatives at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, Lukas has collaborated with premier global institutions - including the World Economic Forum and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office - to shape the discourse on the evolving role of AI in financial markets. He is also the CTO of Solutions Platform LLC, where he built advanced AI methodologies for time series forecasting, portfolio management, and risk management.
Lukas’ combination of academic rigor, real-world product development, and global industry insight makes him a valuable contributor to Songbird’s research and investment platform.
